Implant Supported Dentures![]() Tooth LossOur teeth are strong, but they are subject to breakage, disease and loss. Most adults experience some amount of tooth loss, and as a person ages, the likelihood of tooth loss increases. The most common reason for tooth loss is a result of gum disease, or chronic periodontitis, but tooth loss can also occur from breakage, decay and trauma. No matter what caused the loss of a tooth, many problems follow. Patients who have experienced considerable tooth loss or disease, who require a full arch of replacement teeth can have their teeth restored with a denture. Dentures can be used on either the top or bottom arch, and they can be secured in your mouth. Implant secured dentures can help you have a firm set of teeth that will not rock, move, or come loose. Most modern dentures have acrylic resin teeth, a material that can be made to look just like natural teeth, and an acrylic base that is colored to look just like your natural gum tissue. They are now designed to look more natural in shape, coloring and translucency. Implant Retained OverDenturesAn overdenture is designed to fit with implants. Overdentures include:
All-on-4® Treatment ConceptThe All on 4 system is a non-removable, permanent denture solution that combines the denture with four dental implants. Sometimes referred to as a complete dental bridge, the All on 4 system works similarly to a bridge. We surgically place four implants to serve as anchors, with false teeth between. The end result is a full denture that remains right where it belongs, in your mouth. The advantage of the All on 4 system is in the placement. Most dental implants require the preparatory step of a bone graft, followed by months of healing. The All on 4 system uses longer implants so that thicker bone is reached. These specialized implants are then placed at an angle to capture the most bone material. The end result is a firm implanted denture system that is completed in one day, and though healing time will require you to use the denture with ease, the results are faster and easier.
